Create discount tiers that reward customers for buying more. Example: “Buy 2-4 items: 5% off, Buy 5-9 items: 10% off, Buy 10+: 15% off”
Prerequisites #
- A discount group with “Quantity Discount” type must exist
- See: How to Create Your First Discount Group
Step 1: Open Rule Management #
- Go to KNS Dynamic Discounts → Rule Management
- Select your group from the “Select Group to Manage” dropdown
Step 2: Add a Discount Rule #
- Click “Add Rule”
- A new row appears in the table
Step 3: Configure Discount Settings #
| Field | What It Does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Apply to all products in a category | “T-Shirts” |
| Product | Apply to specific products only | “Blue T-Shirt” |
| Min | Minimum quantity needed | 5 |
| Max | Maximum quantity for this tier (leave empty for unlimited) | 9 |
| % / Amount | Discount type: percentage or fixed amount | “%” |
| Value | Discount amount | 10 |
Tip: Select either Category OR Product. If you select both, the discount applies only to the selected products within that category.
Step 4: Create Multiple Tiers (Optional) #
For tiered pricing, add multiple rules with the same category/products but different quantities:
| Min | Max | Discount | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 4 | 5% | Buy 2-4 items → 5% off |
| 5 | 9 | 10% | Buy 5-9 items → 10% off |
| 10 | (empty) | 15% | Buy 10+ items → 15% off |
Click “Add Rule” for each tier and set the same category/products.
Step 5: Set Customer Conditions (Optional) #
This section controls WHO can use the discount.

| First Order | Only customers who have never placed an order before can use this discount. |
Note: You can check both boxes to require: logged-in + first-time buyer.
Eligible Customers Field #
This field lets you restrict the discount to specific customers.
| If You… | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Leave empty | ✅ Discount is available to ALL customers (based on checkbox conditions above) |
| Select customers | ⛔ Discount is available ONLY to the selected customers |
Example Scenarios:

Step 7: Set Usage Limits (Pro Feature) #
Click the 📊 (chart) icon in the Actions column.
What is Smart Tier Limits? #
When you have tiered pricing (multiple rules for the same product/category), the plugin automatically detects this and applies limits across ALL tiers together.
Example:
You have 3 tiers for “T-Shirts”:
- 2-4 items: 5% off
- 5-9 items: 10% off
- 10+ items: 15% off
If you set Total Usage Limit: 100 on any of these rules:
- The limit applies to ALL 3 tiers combined
- When 100 orders have used ANY of these discounts, they all stop working
- This prevents customers from bypassing limits by choosing different tiers
How It Works:
- Open the Usage Limits modal for any tier
- You’ll see: “Tiered Discount Detected for ‘T-Shirts’: 3 tiers”
- Below it: “Total usage and per-customer usage limits are applied across all tiers.”
- Set your limits – they automatically apply to all related tiers
Limit Settings #
| Setting | What It Does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Total Usage Limit | Maximum total uses for this rule | 100 = only 100 orders can use this discount |
| Usage Limit Per Customer | Maximum uses per individual customer | 1 = each customer can only use it once |
| Current Status | Shows how many times the rule has been used | “Total Usage: 25” |
Note: Leave as “Unlimited” for no restrictions.
Click “Save Limits” when done.
Step 8: Save All Rules #
Important: Click “Save Rules” to permanently save all your changes.
Changes to messages and limits are temporary until you click “Save Rules”.
Done! ✅
